"All I've Got Are These Photographs".. a line from Rihanna's new song "Photographs" speaking on the photo of her from her beating.
When I say Rihanna you may think, oh yeah that singer who's ex boyfriend,Chris Brown, beat her. But when I hear Rihanna, I think of a strong girl who's overcome the tragedy and has come back harder than ever. She's gained a confidence that can not be destroyed and she's become a voice speaking out against violence. Relationships are hard but absolutely no one deserves to have their face beat for anything. Rihanna has changed up her look and has reached out to her supporting fans through her tough time. Her new CD, "Rated R" came out last week and it is definitely my favorite.(I have EVER song on my iPod). Her hard hitting music is personal this time and many of her songs address her previous relation with Chris Brown. She speaks on how she feels and I'm sure many of her fans can relate to her pain and sadness in some way. After I saw her picture that was taken shortly after her beating, it almost brought me to tears. Her face was bruised and swollen. Her eyes were closed and you could read the pain all over her face. Today I was driving home and I was listening to Ryan Seacrest on G105. "877 811 7926 we have Rihanna here". I freaked out and grabbed my phone faster than a dog jumps at food. I called but I didn't manage to get on the air but I was able to leave a message. I said, "Hey Rihanna!I'm Lauren from North Carolina. I just want to say that I am a huge fan of your music and I'm in love with your new album. Also, you're such an inspiration for many girls that relate to your incident. Being able to go on national television and speak on your pain is admirable. You truly are a hero for many women and even men. Hopefully, we all learn a lesson from you. We love you and keep doing your thang girl!"
